This
Computer Forensic Tool was designed to acquire data
from an unopened
computer and image suspect’s hard drive through FireWire or USB ports.
For data acquisition in an environment where the
forensic investigator does not have access to the
internal hard drive, the user will insert the Link
MASSter software to boot the laptop or PC and will
acquire data by imaging the suspect’s hard drive
through those external ports.
The unit write protects the internal hard drive and
image the hard drive with CRC32, MD5 or SH1 hashing
during and after the acquisition.
The investigator can capture data in different
formats, hash the suspect’s hard drive with
different hash methods, save or print an audit
trail, preview the suspect’s hard drive and wipe out
the external hard drive prior to the data
acquisition, as well as wipe out the reminder of the
drive after capturing the data.
