Beta: Changelog
This update of HD Doctor
for WD adds the support for new Western Digital drives
and has had the program interface changed. With the new
interface and new support list, there are some issues as
the following you should pay attention to:
1.
You should first select the drive type from the support
list before clicking “Load from HDD" or “Load from File"
(it is different from the original procedure);
Caution: For
identification of drive type, please refer to the
pictures in the original user manual. On the right side
you can see the picture of the newly supported drive
type.
Some Scorpio drives belong
to this drive type, too. Here is a technique: if you are
not sure which drive type the defective drive belongs
to, you can check by select the support list one by one.
Unless you have selected the correct drive type, no HDD
parameter will be shown.
Note: 16Bit means Silver I, while 32 Bit means Silver
II.
2. For the selection of
“Load from File”, you need first specify the RES file.
RES file will be generated after clicking “Load from HDD”
when a good drive is connected and it can be used for
“Load from File” for the drive with same model.
3. The feature “Select
Database” is disabled at present and will be updated in
next version very soon.
4. In this version, the
speed of firmware backup and update is quite slow. It
will be updated in next version soon.
5. For PCB mode, you need
to first select drive type from the support list and
specify RES file to “Load from File” if you want to
manipulate on ROM.
6. For ROYL series (newly
added drive type), ROM manipulation is forbidden at
present, as the feature has not been thoroughly
developed. Please do not try to use it.
7. There are some
modifications toward some buttons as the following:
"Defect Repair" to "Auto Repair", “Fast Repair” to “CF
Repair”, “Compress P-List” to “Grouping P-List”, “HDD
Rebuild” to “Translator Regeneration”, “Download ROM” to
“Read ROM”, “Save” (ROM menu) to “Write Map to ROM”.
